Quick comparison by hours

|---|---|---|---|
| 15h | ¥936,000 | Usually does not apply | Likely applies |

How the three thresholds differ
- 106万円
- Employee social insurance for short-time workers. The ¥88,000 monthly wage condition is scheduled for removal in October 2026, while hours, student status, contract length, and employer size remain separate checks.
- 130万円
- Health-insurance dependent status. From April 2026, the contract-based expected income treatment is documented; a temporary increase needs employer proof and insurer confirmation.
- 178万円
- ¥1.78m is an income-tax explanation, not a social-insurance or dependent-status threshold; it takes effect on 1 December 2026 for 2026 income tax.

Frequently asked questions
Should the ¥1.06m, ¥1.30m and ¥1.78m thresholds be combined?
No. They belong to employee social insurance, health-insurance dependent status, and income tax.
Are students always excluded from employee insurance?
Ordinary students are generally excluded from this short-time-worker route, but exceptions such as certain schools or leave of absence require confirmation.
Why is a decision date required?
Annual wage is hourly wage × 52 weeks; standard remuneration, other income, and insurer rules can change the result.
