Frequently Asked Questions

Can I calculate take-home pay from monthly income?

Yes. Monthly salary is multiplied by 12 to estimate annual taxes and insurance. To include bonuses, enter the full gross annual income and optionally specify the bonus portion in detailed settings.

Does this use the 2026 basic and employment income deductions?

Yes. It uses the 2026 basic deduction and the JPY 740,000 minimum employment income deduction. Resident tax is estimated separately because its year and deductions differ.

Is the Child and Family Support Contribution included?

Yes. Employee insurance uses the 0.23% fiscal 2026 rate, while National Health Insurance uses an official average estimate. The contribution is shown separately in the results.

Can I use the result directly for a tax return?

No. This is an estimate for comparison and planning. Check your withholding slip, municipal notice, and National Tax Agency guidance when filing.
